Fantastic mining camp that is family owned and operated. If you want to get in the heart of gold country, to enjoy fishing(trout) swimming, hiking and of course panning for gold....this is a MUST outing for the family. Rent a cabin, or go tent-style. Oh, and whatever gold you find, you keep! And there is lots of gold on the property at China camp, Caesar's, the river....even pay dirt piles you can process through sluices. Highly recommended!

We had such a wonderful relaxing time. The family is so nice a welcoming. They make you feel part of their family. The camp is clean and beautiful. Gold mining was new to me and even though it was hard work it was fun and I learned a lot and have found a new hobby.

Nugget and I made it back to Minneapolis safely, exhausted yet greatful for the friends we made while at Roaring camp, the girls decided to be pen pals and I understand the first Letter has already been sent. I have also had several communications with a couple of the families, and we intend to meet in a few months to discover Gold in other locals no doubt a prelude to a return to Roaring Camp next year and hopefully as a tradition. The incredible people make the trip worth it, as my daughter and I did book a full weeks stay in the Cabin aptly named \ Strike it Rich\ we no doubt left having found some Gold, but it is again the people who made the expierence worth the trip. There is great gold there ( Don't ask me where I've forgotten until next year. And hopefully an earlier visit before fire season. Which leads me to the attention to detail the staff place in the safety of the prospectors who stay there, when we landed in California there were no fires, within two days we were not threatened with fire directly, However, the smoke exacerbated a medical condition which made remaining at camp a dangerous prospect for my daughter. The Staff were gracious, and understanding, and we planned the time to leave following Kareokee, where a pre-planned performance by the girls as well as the impromptu performances left us smiling. Nugget and I hope you are all safe, I believe I have read that an evacuation event occurred nearby. And I expect that you are, as with any questions your staff we're prepared, and the direct contact to Call Fire made it clear that the actual fire posed no threat . Nugget and I hope to see you again next year, which we will book when we are able to coordinate with the others, and especially so no one jumps any claims out there. Thanks
