Not sure how many trees have been cut down here, but a great many. Parts of the arboretum now feature a direct view of I-76. On the plus side, the paths are clearer. The state of the some of the statues is poor. In particular, the Verdi monument is falling apart due to lack of maintainence.

Centennial Arboretum is a fun place to spend a few hours. Great and magnificent trees. Some of the trees would benefit from a good pruning and there were a few dead or heavily diseased trees that need to be removed. We were excited to see so many beautiful dawn redwood trees, Japanese maples huge London plane trees. Many more tree ID tags would have been greatly appreciated. We only saw a few during our walk.

This place rules. It is awesome that Philly has public spaces like this. The (free) getaway at the greenhouse event was excellent. Great programming for younger kids and good food and drinks.
