Fantastic butcher, friendly staff who know alot more about all types of meat and other products than I do so always helpful with my recipes. Nothing is too much, they will tell you where all the meat comes from and cut it to whatever size or in what format you want. They also have a supply of fruit and veg and if you ask they will help with what they can get for you, all round lovely butchers.
Very disappointed with the fillet steak I bought this week. I got it home to discover this (refer to image). Even though I went back to complain, Phil told me it was 'normal' and refused to exchange it, so I had to buy another one since it was for a celebratory meal that night. I did tell Phil this was the kind of quality I would expect from a mass producing regular supermarket, not what I expect from a 'helpful' local butcher. I will not be going back.
Superb service always. I love to cook but in a busy job I sometimes have to call Phil and place an order that I can pick up. Great atmosphere in the shop and you know where the meat is local. I often ask for Jacob ladders of beef rib or a special cut of meat. They always meet the request. Fab.
