Chithurst Buddhist Monastery is a very serene, welcoming place to go visit. Forest Monk Tradition is practised there by the residing Monks and nuns. It is open to the public 7 days a week, however due to Corona Virus visiting times are from 10.30am to 1.30am. Food donations are welcomed by the monastery however the public are restricted from eating there themselves until the pandemic is over.

Someone I know is going to stay at this monastery so I wanted to find out more about it and how to get there should I want to visit for the day. It's a bit out of the way from where I live in Hove. Looks like a beautiful peaceful place near Petersfield in South Downs.

Possibly the most relaxing Theravada Buddhist monasteries in the whole Europe. 150 acres of a beautiful land, away from the busy towns, to dwell into the utmost relaxation. You can talk to monks, improve your knowledge about Buddhism, take a country walk along the Hammer pond and be a part of the nature. Road to the monastery does not have street lights as the monastery is situated well away from main roads. However, roads aren't bad & can be easily accessible by a Car. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone. May the triple gem bless you.
