Con: A bit pricey. One plate of blue pea rice is RM5, mix vegetable RM16, Pongteh RM20. Expensive compared to KL Nonya Restaurant. TASTE is so so only. Honestly for me, no authenticity. Pro: However, good and friendly service, cozy environment. All natural ingredients used without added any artificial ingredients or flavourings such as MSG.
Food was malaccan peranakan. The food is just average and considerably pricey. However, it felt healthy and there was no msg tasted. Owner was friendly and came to talk to us to get our opinion after we finished our meal. Giving 3 stars due to the friendliness of the boss and the staff. Would give more stars if the food tasted much better and cheaper.
Read the good reviews here and went to try it but back home with huge disappointment! Extremely expensive! Yes, it is extremely expensive! The so called “market price” dishes is a bit surprised with unreasonable charges! We ordered steamed lemongrass squid, with small tiny 12 pcs squid (we checked with waiter because the portion came was a big shock to us, can refer to photo) and it is RM42!! Seriously?! Before we ordered we asked for the market price, the waiter said min order is RM42 so we assumed the portion should be good enough! But....... The Nasi Bakar, should call it as Nasi Bakar Indonesia! Again, cheating consumer without fish/meat as ingredients except three tiny slices of egg and chilies. Reflected this to owner but given excuses this is another version of nasi Bakar. Come on! I have been staying in Indonesia for a year plus, this is not the taste of NASI BAKAR INDONESIA! the rice is without coconut milk, the rice is without the good smell of effect of “Bakar”! The rice is hard too. The drink Blue Pea lemon, charged RM6, other than the blue pea color I didn’t see any special because the drink is almost tasteless! Big glass with a piece of lemon, imagine by yourself! The Bee Koh Moy, the coconut milk is added separately from the black glutinous rice! This is not original way of cooking! So you can imagine the taste of rice and coconut milk are not mixing well with each other! I can only say only the Ju Hu Char is good taste among all the dishes! Wonder how can this shop earn high review for that! The portion is not big definitely, and the price is definitely extremely expensive! My grandmother used to cook nyonya styled dishes so I’m get used to heavy aroma of Nyonya food! This restaurant doesn’t reserve its good name!
Took my team there for a company celebration dinner. Regretted it. Food was blah. Service was okay but the biggest downer for me that despite the hefty bill the food quality was below par of even a roadside vendor. It was bland. I could have been eating anything. Out of the numerous dishes only the laksa fish and the spicy prawns were above par. Also as per my team mate's comment - the food started off already cold. Can you imagine eating cold clammy veggies? Yuck. Forced myself to eat it coz the place was my "brilliant" choice. The rest not worth mentioning. On the whole the night was disappointing.
Really like the food there. Very healthy without MSG, can taste it. My family find the environment also very suitable for dining and gathering. Really recommendable.
Cant use credit card. Device not working when i ate dinner here. Asam Pedas was just ok-ish. Nothing special to be honest
