As a trained chef myself, eating in any restaurant is a bit of a challenge as I'm constantly looking for faults and missed bits. The Shore does not disappoint! Every single course was presented well and carefully explained by the team. The cook on every dish was perfect and even though my girlfriend is a pescetarian we were graciously catered for by the team and one of the courses was adapted for her dietary requirements. I could not fault the flavours delivered to us. All local, seasonal produce from organic farms too. There was just the right amount of food served, our set menu was 4 courses, we couldn't have fit another mouthful! The dishes were attractive and didn't have the super pretentious aesthetics that usually come with this level of cooking. Every element was well thought out and added to the dish. We opted out of the paired wine flight but chose two from that list and they were super tasty! Bruce, the owner/chef both greeted us on arrival and chatted to us at the end of our meal and made us feel right at home. He even courteously listened to some additions I cheekily suggested to a couple of the dishes ;) our waitress was lovely and super warm and welcoming. The perfect end to our stay in West Cornwall, definitely be back the next time we're this way

We loved our meal at The Shore last Friday: the food was beautifully prepared to bring out the best of the local fresh quality ingredients that the chef wanted to showcase. This is high level refined cooking at its best: simplified, creative, honest, personal and unpretentious. Just sublime and not to be missed when in Penzance. The wine pairings were also wonderful. We also loved the 'supperclub' inspired approach, where all tables were served their courses at the same time, with the chef providing some context to the dish and wine pairing. During these isolating times, it was lovely to have an experience in common with others - even though all the tables were far from each other (the restaurant takes social distancing and the health of staff and customers very seriously, with many precautions in place including distancing between tables, masks, temperature check on entry - a major plus!) We very much look forward to coming back to The Shore again.

A fantastic meal for a special occasion. Don't be too put off by the price. Save up, it's worth it!

This stunning restaurant must be the best in Penzance. A tasting menu based on seafood demonstrates the talents of a superb chef. Service is excellent and if you are a wine lover then a wine flight matches a different wine to each course. Booking essential. Highly recommended.

A really special experience, not to be missed when in Cornwall. We couldn’t fault it. Every course of the seafood based tasting menu was delicious, beautifully presented, and paired with matching white wines and sake. Bruce is a lovely guy who is really passionate about local seafood and took the time to talk to everyone in the restaurant about the menu and his career more broadly. The mackerel with wasabi sorbet (pictured) was our favourite, but it was difficult to choose!
