Beautiful place to visit, even on a rainy day! Felt very safe with the social distancing, cafe is outdoors but worked very well. Loved the gardens, always something interesting to see around every corner. Will definitely be back

Great variation of walks, signage can be difficult, but that is all part of the adventure! Dont forget your trails or wellies!
Excellent preserved medieval house and beautifully restored original gardens. Plenty of picnic space easy to reach great for half a day out.
This is a great place to visit. Wolf Hall was filmed here, well some of it anyway. The gardens were beautiful despite the rain. The flag made of bedding was also amazing. It was September 19 when i visited. The history is great the portrait paintings are somewhat of a mix, sometimes the sitter looks a little sour or surprised but it added to enjoyment of the day. Lunch at the tea room was equally excellent, fresh food which was nice and hot. Facilities are good, but like all historic buildings stairs are always a bit of an issue. Not sure I'd cope with them when I'm in my 80's and 90's. FAB place.
