I really can't thank the team at Penrose enough for the beautiful funeral they managed for my dear husband Fred. Especially Nathan for helping us plan the day with such care and dignity. I met Nathan's dad Jeremy for the first time when he arrived with the cortege to collect us from home. I just wanted to thank Penrose Funeral Services for a such a dignified and personal funeral service. My mother died a couple of weeks ago; she was 96 and much loved. Mum lived in Southend but I live in Lincoln and so trying to arrange a funeral, in the middle of the coronovirus pandemic added to what was already a traumatic and stressful time. However, Penrose Funeral Services were brilliant. I spoke to Brendon on several occassions, via video link from home, to discuss what my mum wanted and how it could be facilitated at such a difficult time. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Mum died at home, which was a blessing, as it was her strongest wish, not to die in hospital. The staff that came to collect her from her house were dignified and very respectful. Mum was a catholic and so had a catholic mass but as churches are closed none of the family were allowed to go. This was etremely upsetting, but Brendon suggested the service could be live video-streamed from the church and, as only very few were allowed to attend the cemetry, he also suggested filming the burial so that a video of the whole service could be made. The video, which we received within two days of the funeral, was very professional and gave comfort to those unable to attend. The staff at Penrose were excellent. They were very professional and respectful in how they carried mums coffin to the graveside and guided us in what to do, given that we were naturally very upset. I think a firm is only as good as it's employees and I highly rate Penrose staff. A death at any time is difficult but in the middle of a pandemic it is even worse. Thanks to Penrose Funeral Services we have lasting, comforting memories of mums last goodbye.

I cannot thank Penrose enough for how they handled my mothers funeral. They acted with total professionalism and respect. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend and use them again (but hopefully not for some considerable time)

Penrose fully deserve a 5 star rating. this is the 2nd Funeral they have directed for us. Once again they were absolutely brilliant On meeting with Nathan we all felt that he really listened to our needs and also advised us on absolutely everything we needed to know but never tried to sell anything to us unlike a previous experience we have had at a couple of other directors which is the last thing you need at a time of loss. Nathan then kept us so well informed right up until the day of the funeral calling most days to check that everything was in order and to see how our arrangements were coming along. Nothing was too much to ask from ideas we had about the funeral to the amount of visits to our Mother from family members. On the day of the funeral we felt that the care and empathy was there from Jeremy and Nathan and all of the staff. Jeremy asked us how we wanted to do things and even brought our flowers back for us. I would highly recommend Penrose and thank them for the smooth running of everything at such a devastating time. We would definitely use them again as they offer everything you would want service, dignity and value for money. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts all the team at Penrose.
