This, until recently was a bit of a hidden gem. An old Victorian estate, fallen into disarray, and very wild until about 10 (?) years ago when a restoration project started. The original owners as well as managing the estate to a high standard were also pioneer photographers so the restoration trust was able to establish exactly what it looked like 100 years ago. Still work in progress and a magnificent job is being done. Truly a magical place.

Lovely place for a walk with children and dog. Hilly but mostly on reasonable surfaces or you can walk the 'carriage lane' from top to bottom which is a gentle slope. No good for wheelchairs or 'basic' strollers/push chairs.
Love penllergaer woods. I live on the edge of the woods and the work done by penllergaer trust us just wonderful. Thank you to all the workers there.
Really great walk for 2. My big and little ones had a great time playing in the water.
Lovely walks through the valley, the facilities were clean and social distancing maintained.a great place for family walks the map is very clear on items to search and investigate. Be aware 2 fee for parking.
