Large, spacious and impressive building, beautifully converted into a Wetherspoon pub. It's smack opposite the railway station in Station Square. Clean and friendly, but lacked something, the meal turned up looking good, but disappointing, it was just a fraction past warm and the eggs hard fried. Plusses and minuses on this one.

After calling at Pen Cob more than a dozen times a year for a meal, we have always enjoyed the food until today. We asked for a large fish and chips. The plate had two pieces of 'fish' , it was only batter really, the nice waitress brought another fish, but it was under cooked. My signature steak wa like a piece of rubber, and after trying to eat it I gave up. We left with the under cooked fish untouched. This is a first for me and I use Weather spoons all over the UK.

Great pub. Friendly staff even under challenging circumstances. Food was good and served quite quickly given how busy it was although I chose not to order using the app. Would recommend.

As I'm gluten free the App they ask you to order food is useless , there's nowhere to tell them gluten free & make changes to the food. My husband had to find someone who came & took our order , he wrote my down & at the end put gluten free , then a member of staff came over & asked what I meant by gluten free peas , I had to then explain to her it was the whole meal that needed to be gluten free , when the meal came even though I'd ordered my steak medium to well done it was more like medium to rare , I couldn't be bothered to complain as I'd had enough my then. Staff definitely need to be trained on allergens !

Busy with a great atmosphere. Quite a large venue. The food was typical of a chain pub but very good quality. We ordered the food and drinks through the Wetherspoon app which gave us table service and surprisingly the service was very quick. Drinks were very cheap. Not many places you can order 2 pints and it be under 4.50. Def' return.
