If you're after a more traditional place to visit, the Pen is spot on. The food is really good and with a wide variety of traditional ales, popular lagers and ciders to wash it down with, it's a pleasant all round experience. I hope they don't mind me saying the decor needs a little sprucing up, hence 3 stars but 4•5 for the food, the service and although they were very busy,my spotless table, which is reassuring in the midst of a pandemic. The beer garden is pretty good too!

As always, the Pen and Wig never ever disappoints!! From great staff and an amazing atmosphere, to food that is generous on portions, tasty, well made and tastes like home cooked food.... but better!!! This place may be tucked away a little bit but it's never over crowded and really offers a good family/friends experience. You don't have to shout to be heard and there's even a function room if you want to hold your own little gathering! I can't recommend this lil' joint enough!! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is just perfect, plus the staff will always have a good chat with you!!
Best steak and chips ever with lashings of pepper sauce, (even let me choose my own steak) Brilliant! all day breakfast also superb... Great staff and superb chef!!! WILL BE BACK AGAIN.
