Good food but I guess we came in at a time when they're about to close (past 7.30pm today) that I felt the waitress isn't on her best mood serving. When she picked up our orders, she was not too responsive to some of my questions and she literally looked at her wrist watch while waiting for me. I'm trying to be compassionate and understand that it might have been a long day for her and she's looking forward to finish the day and go home. However, for a restaurant that collects a "service charge", it is best that you don't let your customers feel that they shouldn't be there; again I don't think this is her intention so I'm giving her benefit of the doubt. My recommendation is that if the time is already tight before closing, you can graciously deny the customer upfront so you don't feel forced serving. I do commend the guy waiter though for still being cheerful and courteous despite the closing time rush. Thanks. I'm not too hungry and just wanted a light dinner so I ordered roti with this vegetable curry. Roti and the curry are good and surprisingly filling.

A resto well known for its Southeast Asian Roti which is very good! Must try their Roti Prata with cury sauce. Also loved their Hainanese Chicken. You get a better deal with their combo meal. You get the Chicken and the roti prata together. Our new favorite roti resto.

So the initial reviews of this place is a little harsh but, in some ways, warranted. Though you do have to take into consideration that they just opened and they did have a sign saying “We are on dry run” which sounds more like a cop out than anything else but it needs to be taken seriously with small restaurants and fast casuals such as the Roti Shop. Anyway, onto my review, I love the interiors, very bright and vibrant which does wonders to activate your appetite. Though I do have to point out that they don’t have a hand-washing station which is essential as roti is commonly eaten with your fingers. I only ordered 2 things - bean sprouts in sweet soy sauce (P65) which was comforting, firm and freshly prepared and the roti with curry sauce (P159). The curry was decent though I prefer something with a little more kick in taste and spice and the roti itself was a little overdone, it had a hard exterior but had the right amount of chewiness and softness afterwards. I’m thinking when they do remedy their roti hardness they could go and and remove the “dry run” sign. Excited for that to happen.
