Shogun Restaurant

First time at this Shogun. Great lunch special value. Did takeout during Covid 19. Generous portion, pretty tasty, well packaged and easy pickup. But the chicken was overcooked and dry.

Sitting outside on the patio with the Spanish guitarist and the twinkly lights had a very magical ambience. The short ribs with lentils were amazing. The bottle of Tempranillo was just right. Can't wait to go back.

The food was great. Grill area was quite busy like for a Monday night. We chose the sushi / dinning room. I did not like the cheap laminate tables. Some nice wooden floor and wood on tables would make this place more appealing. I tend to come back to nice places more.

Eating out in the parking lot was a wonderful experience. However the grilling done outside is really not up to snuff. The fried rice was not prepared on the outside grill. The dining experience of being able to watch the preparation of the fried rice was missing. It was prepared in the kitchen (mass produced?) and delivered to the table. As much as I like the eating outside, it does not compare to the actual indoor dining experience. The food also does not retain the warmth due to the much cooler temperature - not to mention a fly went into my miso soup.

This is a Teppan-Style Japanese restaurant. I have been a patron for over 10 years!! Every dining experience has been positive and a great place for family and celebratory gatherings with the chef grilling in front of you. It is a visual and aromatic delight!! I usually get the rib-eye steak, sesame chicken, and scallops with fried rice and grilled veggies.
