- Overcrowded trains in the middle of a pandemic - Emergency exits blocked by piles of suitcases - Horrible customer service

Unfortunately, Thalys is very strict in terms of refund policy compared to other train companies such DB and SNCF and does not allow for much flexibility. I booked for my parents, above 60 and 50, two train tickets from Germany to Essen. However, due to the rise of COVID cases in Paris, I was asking for exception and an evoucher for their booking (and not an refund). This would not have cost the company anything but would allow my parents the flexibility to rebook their ticket some other time. Yet I was disappointed not to have this flexibility.

Overcrowded. Great if you like hotboxes. They do have free water, orange juice and coffee, but nowhere near enough seating. I'd rather stand on the platform.

Nice place to wait on your train if you have the thalysthecard card of course.

Still had an hour to wait till my Thalys left, so tried out the lounge. Coffee for free, WiFi and possible to have conference call meeting in a small separate room. Toilets are clean. Security at the door checks if you have a valid Thalys ticket. Good way to pass a time comfortable before traveling.

I’m never sure what a lounge means, but this must be the absolute minimum you could get. Depressing environment. They do have coffee and some slices of cake.

It's included in the first-class ticket. I think that says it all. Damp, warn, and small. No food. Just drinks. Staff needs hospitality and service training.

Very nice staff.. but to call this a lounge ? Not sure.. very limited selection and cramped seating.. not worth the extra cost for first class
