- Zuke chu toro (supplement): This was seared, though I think it would've been nice to have left it alone - Shirayaki (supplement): Freshwater eel with gold flakes (bling bling!). I don't normally like eel, but this was SO good! The top of the eel is broiled, so it's nice and crispy -- something I doubt you see in any type of unagi nigiri. The only bad thing was I bit into a bone, but not a huge deal. - A5 wagyu (supplement): We passed on the truffle since we're not huge fans of it (GASP??). The wagyu was rich and buttery in texture, but my piece was a bit chewy. - Toro handroll (supplement): I don't really care for toro nigiri (ANOTHER GASP??), but this was good. The pickled radish gave it a nice sour kick. My only \complaint\ is that I felt the fish:rice ratio was a bit off, i.e. not enough rice.

We had a private party here and the venue is absolutely gorgeous, but the food was pretty awful. Appetizers were mediocre and service was good - we had the 3 canapes and it was quite nice, but it was all downhill from there. Our duck was dry to the bone and chewy. And this is Paris! Can you give me at least decent canard?? The beef filet (Filet de bœuf en Brioche) was much better, but still sub par. Foie gras and dessert was ok as well. At least the unlimited vin was enough for me to forget such a sad meal.
