We came to this station from Munich on a direct train. The station was fairly small as we were already outside once we walked down the platform. The inside looked like a station but was a bit smaller. The outside was quite nice as it looked almost like a greenhouse with the windows on the front. There is also a statue on top of the station. It was a nice station with bus stops close by for transfers, although we didn't use them as there was a strike at the time.

Clean and easy to find your way around and there are some shops and restaurants in the main lobby to help kill the time while waiting.

Nice station but overpriced. Convenient ATM machine. The problem was the helpdesk. Because of the train strike I had to exchange my ticket. She spoke to me in English.. but the moment I asked where I could get my refund.. she only spoke French! The trip to Frankfurt from here was very easy. I would do it again.

I bought the card Navigo decouverte at the metro stop. The lady at the ticket office was kind and issued the card immediately. I did not know there are Navigo agency at the major station, so I just asked to the metro ticket office. Please don't forget to have your ID photo to issue the Navigo card. Gare de l'Est was less busy than Gare Du Nord but still better to pay attention your belongings.

Big and crowded station. Easy accessible for all. Friendly staffs but shops inside station are too expensive. Be aware of pickpocketing.

Modernistic old world charm. This East station is ergonomically designed with lots of shops cafe etc. Well structured train platform at a single level makes boarding easy, and the metro station is located at basement level 1 to connect to the various parts of Paris

Small and convenient. Their are cafes, small Monoprix supermarket for snacks and some brand stores. McDonald's is close right now due to Corona. Systematic checking and queues for getting in trains.
