If you're a postgraduate student of fine arts you can get accreditation to work in here. Bring your student card and a letter from your supervisor or similar and it can be done on the spot. Many books in languages other than French. One of the most inspiring libraries in the world! Also wonderful in Paris for arts students are the Kandinsky Library in the Pompidou and La bibliothèque de l’Institut de France (a week's free visits then you must subscribe). Paradise!

The national library of France has a beautiful reading room. Entry is free. Visitors are allowed in the doorway area of the reading room to take photos. Only patrons are allowed to enter. Upstairs is a smaller reading room reserved for researchers. Worth a quick visit.

What a chance to be able to study in such an amazing library. It's a pity there are continuous workings that are actually not very great. Not really agree with his choices.
