Literally the worst Japanese-inspired meal we’ve ever had, in several decades of eating all kinds of sushi, sashimi and related dishes across several continents. From the weak, soapy miso soup to the razor thin, yet also chewy fish smeared onto indigestible rice, all washed down by blatantly watered down wine and a wildly inflated bill, this was an unmatched exercise in restaurant cynicism. This place might once have been good, but it’s clearly gone a long way downhill and into the sewer. Avoid.

Aoi Sushi is an extremely underrated restaurant in the heart of Paris, its slightly gritty shop front and dimly lit interior is a complete contrast to the food served here. My family and I ordered multiple meals, with myself ordering the raw salmon plate served with rice, miso soup and japanese salad. While I have visited many higher class restaurants which served raw fish, this restaurant's salmon was by far the most tender and well prepared salmon I have ever had. It was exceptional. The grilled salmon was also great and all the sushi was beautifully made. Having visited this shop around 2:30 it was surprisingly empty, and the quality of the food was extremely surprising in comparison to the scarcity of customers. Throughout the entire meal my family and I sat solitairy in the restaurant. Despite this, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing nearby who wants amazing and authentic sushi.

Seriously, One of the best places I've tried in Paris for sushi. Went there with my gf expecting nothing at all so we ordered a brochettes menu and then 3 or 4 diff kinds of sushi... All of them were great. They were quick and it was all fresh. Really liked it... Tried the tuna egg makis (loved them) and then two hot ones (crispy) with cucumber and surimi / prawns... Price was good, with a coffee all for 35/40 Euros. I ll come back for sure
