Exceptional mountain scenery, does not fall short of the Dolomites. Through hikes and day hikes easily accessible

This park is amazing and definitely worth a visit! To quickly get higher up, you can skip the beginning ascent by taking a gondola (not expensive at all, maybe 15 round trip if I remember correctly). Here, the trails are endless and beautiful. I saw mountain goats grazing the grass. Bring lots of water and snacks, and be prepared for steep sections. Gran Sasso is a must see!

Skilifts closed. You cannot ski here as use to be. The place look abandoned. It is a shame, as most of those people who lives and works there have been trying their best to keep this magnificent place alive! It use to be a place better than a 5 stars luxury but my disappointment doesn't allows me to give more than one star.

MIND BLOWING this park in central Italy-Abruzzo was so beautiful..miles of road without seeing a soul. We felt completely immersed and in awe of the magnificent mountains and valleys, ancient hilltop towns. Giving popular Tuscany a run for its money. We will be back Abruzzo you haven't disappointed. I almost want to keep this special part of Italy a secret as it's too good to spoil with bus loads if tourists sprawling the tiny towns and natural parks! We saw a wolf in the midst of cows and horses, shepherds herding their sheep flocks and witnessed the sun set over the majestic mountain tops. It a been a great day !!
