The homes looked fine, but the sales reps refused to answer any questions about the cost of delivery and setup. I left work early, drove 90 minutes and .....The reps could of been replaced with a magic 8 ball that says \I don't know\ \it depends\ and \good faith deposit\ What is really annoying is they DID know and just wouldn't tell me. I could tell they knew by the way they flinched when I guessed to low. He nearly fell over when I suggested it was 5,000. He mumbled something about at least 20k. And then he says if you tell me your total budget he'll show us something we can afford .....Well if he can do that, then he can give us an estimate Not sure how they expect their customers to make a decision about a home without knowing the total cost, unless ......clayton's goal is to get us to fall in love with a home they know will be outside the budget But lets give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe none of the nearly 17k employees know how to estimate the cost of delivering the home. Here is what you do 1) gather all the completed sales in 2019 2) sum all the costs the buyer paid in addition to the purchase price 3) divide the sum in step 2 by the number of installations, this will give you the average installation cost 4) use this formula σ [ (x - x̄) 2/ N ] to calculate the standard deviation 5) tell your customers that the average installation last year was \\ and 80% of homes installed were within 1 standard deviation of the average 6) have some fun with the data. Do the same calculations for single wides, vs double wides. Or Hud vs mod. Or break out the individual costs so that people have a good idea what they are getting into Unless.... are you afraid if you do they won't want to purchase from you?

Even though Pete was ready to leave when we arrived, he spent a considerable amount of time answering questions and showing us around. I love the many floor plans and options Clayton Homes has to offer.
This place had their layouts, and some costs in mobile home parks posted right up front so you didn't have to hunt anyone down to ask. They had some very reasonable options available for modulars
Homes are very nice there but the service not so much. Went to try and get some information on total cost of a land home package and felt I left with no more information then I already had. Person their couldn't give accurate information, or even an estimate. Gave home a price range of 40-60k for a home and he took me into a home that is 90k. I was done after that. Felt as though he didn't care about my wants or needs, he just cared about a sale. He will not be getting my sale, that's for sure. On a side note went to a competitor not to far away and got all the information I could ever ask for. There are better options in my opinion and Clayton Homes is just a waste of time.
