A beautiful fountain and a well preserved piece of history located In the historical centre of Palermo near many many out sites that are not to be missed! Great place to stop take some time and enjoy the history. It is a shame because a few run down buildings nearby detract from the experience (hence the 4 stars), but still not to be missed if you visit Palermo. There is also a cute restaurant with a view of the fountain down the side street that's worth a stop for a drink.

Very nice and beautiful spot. Definitely worth a visit. We visited this site more than once. Beautiful beautiful place, the kids can run around, awesome atmosphere and a great place to grab a drink, chill and enjoy life. This spot really shows the historical and impressive Italian art. Would recommend that you go check out this spot!

An fascinating Fontaine with highly aesthetic sculptures of mistique mitholgy humans, gods and animals. An absolute must-see in Palermo! Located very central, near to the famous quattro canti.

We walked across to the Pretoria Fountain which was very pretty although the square itself was run down with derelict buildings and graffiti. We had some great views of the fountain from Saint Catherine of Alexandria Monastery but up close the statues don't really have the same natural poses as the ones in Florence - I know this fountain was originally built for a Florentine noble and was sold to Palermo when he couldn't pay up but I really didn't think it was worth the price. Anyway, it's nice to look around although you can't sit on the fountain itself but my recommendation would be to visit the monastery and look at it from up there.
