Osteria Antica Bologna Reviews | Rating 4,3 out of 5 stars

Osteria Antica Bologna is located in London, United Kingdom on 23 Northcote Rd. Osteria Antica Bologna is rated 4.3 out of 5 in the category italian restaurantitalian grocery store in United Kingdom. A Northcote Road favourite for over twenty years - that’s an awfully long time on the London restaurant scene - Antica Bologna is as fresh and thrilling as the day it first opened its doors, it conjures up images of hidden away village osterias in the wild countryside of Emilia Romagna or the rolling hills of Tuscany, its cheerful welcome befitting of an old family favourite. Chef Marzio Zacchi passionately believes in using fresh, locally sourced and seasonal produce having grown up in the Piemonte countryside surrounded by a family who reared chickens, grew veg and cured their own salami. However, despite his rustic upbringing, Zacchi has brought to Osteria Antica Bologna’s food the kind of sophistication that can only be gained through several years training in top London restaurants.

What an amazing selection of produce - fresh fruits, vegetables, Italian goodies of every descriprion, wines.....and the bonus is the fresh foccacia, lasagne, etc. that the chef bakes daily. Such a gem. Whilst I miss being able to go there to eat in a restaurant, being able to buy fresh goods and groceries is the next best thing!

Friendly and cozy place - great food!! Wine list important in terms of choices and prices, but the prosecco was worthy. Recommended!

Definitely going back here. Currently serving as an Italian deli and ingredients shop. We had a chocolate and pear cake that tasted unreal. I think the owner served us and he was v friendly.

Really really top-notch good, authentic Italian food. The homemade bread and pasta were amazing. Service is efficient, food came out at a decent pace (not too fast but also not painfully slow). Would definitely reccomend and will definitely be coming back!

I ate here before I found out I can no longer consume gluten and was expecting more. The restaurant was extraordinary noisy to the point where we couldn’t hear each other and we were getting a headache so before we ordered—since no one came to take our order for some time—we told the waitress we were going to leave because of the noise level. She agreed that it was extremely loud and offered to seat us in another room which we didn’t know existed. It is where they keep their wine and the toilets were back there as well. We appreciated that they moved us but then we were away from the main restaurant and were forgotten. Service was extremely slow—think slow like Paris. We thought the food would be worth it but unfortunately it wasn’t. Not much flavor and even the pasta didn’t taste fresh though it was supposed to be homemade. We’ve made pasta from scratch and know what fresh pasta should taste like. The bread was good however and tasted fresh.
