My wife and I visited after reading about several restaurants in the area looking for somewhere to try some traditional Norwegian food. I got the reindeer patties and my wife got the fresh trout. Both dishes were delicious! The server was friendly and fast. I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Great value traditional Norwegian cuisine. Hearty fare and good beer. Absolutely loved it! Very friendly staff and quick service. Will certainly go back when next in Oslo.

Really old school place. It looks like nothing been modernised since the restaurant was opened and I guess you could call it vintage. Staff was lovely. Food was good. They have menu in few languages and also of you are not sure about the food you can ask the staff for some recommendations.

Great vintage atmosphere. The place has been “frozen” in the 70s. The design style is lovely kitsch between Aki Kaurismäki and Wes Anderson. The food is excellent: old fashioned Norwegian greedy portions. I had the reindeer and the warm apple pie with ice cream. The fact that Jo Nesbø set a few scenes of his books in there gives it the additional fascinating attraction.

Food was good. Restaurant was completely empty. Maybe 4 people came in and I was there for an hour and a half. Food came extremely quickly.

A nice place to grab traditional Norwegian food at a good price.

Friendly and service minded staff, with a simple but classic menu of mostly traditional Norwegian cusine. If your flavor is one for less spicy or advanced dishes, Schrøder has dishes with cleaner flavors and deep traditions. It is also noteworthy that the restaurant is a location in several of Norwegian author Jo Nesbø's books about Harry Hole. But the food were above expectations, and I would reccomend the restaurant as one of the few left with a menu of its kind
