We marched on and then marched out of Orvieto and down the long stone walkway to a historical landmark of the Etruscan Tombs outside the city walls of Orvieto, with name inscriptions on their tombs, reminds me of Egyptian tombs. Fascinating to view these monuments to the dead who have so many years ago come before us. Only a couple other visitors so we had the place to ourselves. Well worth the time to visit here. You can also drive to this location as well. We love the exercise and walked, recommended to do this only if in shape.

Worth the visit. Beautiful and calm place.
It's worth stopping here if you visit Orvieto. You can go inside many tombs. You can see the Etruscan family name the deceased belonged to. There are some display panels giving details about the necropolis. There is also a small museum with artefacts, which gold jewellery.
Interesting place will only take you about 30 minutes to see. Need a flashlight to see inside the tombs even during the day.
