Booked in our puppy to have her first vaccination to be called on the morning of the appointment and 'told', at first, the time was not available. After me explaining why this was the only time we could bring her I was told I was unreasonable by a very rude woman called Susan, who then hung up on me. Unbelievable unprofessional and I have now gone with a different practice.

Going back a couple of months ago while out training Jack my working springer spaniel he went into some water to retrieve a ball and when he come out he had a really bad injury something presumably a glass bottle had gone right through the pad of his foot and also cut further up across his leg. The cut at the top of his leg had damaged his veins/artery the blood loss was unbelievable and I knew I only had minutes to get him to a vet. I live in Ormskirk but Barn Lodge is not my usual vet as I have only recently moved to the area. I phoned around a number of vets and managed to get hold of someone at Barn Lodge. They met me at the practice and opened up and performed surgery that saved my dogs life. Without Ausitin performing this surgery quickly I have no doubt that he would be dead. I have since been back for check ups and get the stitches removed and Jack made a fantastic recovery. Unfortunately today again while out training Jack injured the same leg but in a different place he went into some brambles on the edge of a field and cut his leg on some old terracotta waste pipe that someone had kindly dumped! Again I called Barn Lodge and managed to get an emergent appointment. Again it was Austin and his son who dealt with him they got him in right away and this time fortunately it was able to be stapled rather than having to have an operation and put under anaesthetic and kept in again. I can’t fault Austin and for me he has done a great job. The price I have paid for all the treatments has been more than fair. I really don’t have any complaints this review is just a way to say thanks as nothing worse than your dog needing medical care and you are left without it. These lads really pulled me out when I needed help with Jack. Thanks to all keep up the good work. Sean

Was told by a friend to call their out of hours service when our pup had a eye infection. Spoke to a member of staff who was really rude and unprofessional in my opinion, said they don’t deal with breeders? Even though I’m not. Felt like they couldn’t be bothered to complete their work on a Sunday evening, Liverpool FC was playing probably wanted to watch that instead of looking after animals.

My partner took our two dogs as our usual vets were fully booked, staff were rude and even shouted at my dog, no compassion and the treatments were overpriced to what we usually pay for the same medications. Wouldnt recommend.

Took our beloved dog to Barn Lodge on Tuesday morning he got amazing treatment but had to get admitted on Tuesday evening they kept us updated and sent a photo through for our daughter to stop her worrying before bed, he is now back home with us happy but still on medication, Austin the vet is amazing as are the team he has surrounding him, our experience has been a first class one, keep up the good work, and thank you xx
