Serious omissions errors were made and after time passed, staff member at fault admitted the errors in writing. Legal malpractice attorney recommended litigation. Recovery unit attorney erred twice in trying to fix the original mistakes and we were informed that he did not write court orders correctly nor according to applicable statutes. Leadership avoided responsibility, refused calls, and blocked public records requests. Audits and increased oversight are needed and might be useful for uncovering how common these very costly errors are. Also, to see how many families are impacted by errors statewide. Constituent Services staff seem to function as gatekeepers for effective customer service (serving risk management roles). Grievances seem to result in retaliatory or dilatory tactics. It's all pretty sad as Oregon's children and young adult students eligible for services deserve fair, accurate, and timely support. We've requested mediation to attempt a more cost effective resolution for all concerned. Maybe the person that helped Vicki Z could fix the errors and collect on our behalf. Sounds like she was fortunate to receive kind and competent assistance with her issue.

The child support agent I have worked with for over a year now has been very helpful and is on top of things. They helped me collect 6 years of back child support after my ex sold his home! They have always been very nice when I call and talk to someone.

After 4 years they still cannot collect arrears for my child. He's 22 now and could use it to assist with some health issues and lord knows I could have used it trying to raise him as a single mom. But he gets to be off owning his own business, buying houses, motor homes, quads, motorcycle, and neglecting his first responsibility. That seems to be ok with the state. I'm sure there is something they could do to get him to pay up his bill.

Mommy state does not care about the children all's they care about is money they don't care if the dad does not eat or have a place to live and they could care less if the mom doesn't obide by the custody order.
