A great experience if you wish to feel the air of another epoque, la belle epoque. I highly recommend visiting the baby's room projections...
I visited this place on November 8th 2020. Last entrance is at 4.30PM butni strongly recommend going at 3 - 3:30 in order to have plenty of time to visit the house. Prices are 5 lei for students and 10 lei for adults. (1Euro and 2 Euro). It's really a crazy cheap fee so i strongly recommend a donation of 1 or 2 Euros. As for the museum, it's simply stunning. Nothing short of amazing. You can find all the vintage clothes, make up, perfume, jewelery, cutlery etc they had been using in the 1900's. Rooms are renovated to look exactly like when they were brand new. It really shows a glimpse of the rich life the high class society of Oradea had lived. Be aware that the entrance is from Iosif Vulcan streed, you cannot enter from the river side of the museum. Do not leave Oradea without visiting this place!!! I'll let the pictures to speak for themselves.
Casa Darvas is hands down one of the best museums I visited. The work done there to restore and preserve the original architecture and design is impeccable. And the fact that it's all combined with the newest technologies to give the visitor a great experience is just remarkable. They have a projection room that's one of the most immersing experiences I had so far and an interactive table that guides you through the history of the house. And finally, the guides are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and well-mannered.
Probably the best museum in Oradea. It takes you back in time to feel the aristocratic lifestyle of the 1900.
If you come to Oradea, you must pay a visit to this unique Art Nouveau museum from Romania. Besides its architectural particularities and the beautiful location (by the river's side, right in the city center), you will find here a bit of that 'air du temps' describing La Belle Époque of the 1920s'. Along with this goe the modern perks of technology: digital touristic guides (tablets) handed over at the museum's reception, the interactive panel, the video mapping program in the children's room. This museum expresses the reconciliation between past and present, a place where history and ingeniousity make good team together. Definitely recommend it.
I don't know even where to start! This house literally took my breath away! It's such a marvellous architectural wonder and the interiors are so well preserved and unique! I'm so glad that we've seen it! It's going to be closed for further renovations starting with February 2018, so go and see it NOW!
This place is a must see in Oradea and also the short movie is really amazing.
