There’s some unexplainable old charm that endears us to this restaurant, not sure whether it’s the Beijing tone that answered the phone or the local Beijing expats who were there. Food was fine but not outstanding, Beijing duck lacked something, perhaps the umami goodness of roasted caramelised meat, the spicy fish was good but could be a little spicier, the best were the cold appetisers.

Visit on Nov 2nd -Beijing duck was dry and tasteless. really awful taste -sweet and sour pork was decent. mapa tofu is too salty -When paying for food in cash, HKD 50 less change returned without a receipt. Complained to get the proper change back -_-;; -one waitress shattered a plate and there were yelling from owner to her several times. not a good environment for good convo
I had dandan noodle which came with some pickled cucumbers and some dumplings. Dandan noodle had loads of Szechuan peppers in the soup and was super delicious. My friend had hot & spicy noodle which was also tasty. The noodle set was HKD 55 with some nibbles. Apparently rise set menus are also good. Stuff were HK standard. Good taste, value for money. I would go back again and would recommend to my friends.
Good for Peking Duck. Other dishes were not all so great. Toilet unpleasant.
