Booked last minute (due to issues at another restaurant) but so glad we did. Hands down one the top Indian restaurants in Derby. Food was flavoursome, plenty of it and very enjoyable. Friendly, pleasent and welcoming staff. Will definitely come here again. I highly recommended this place.

Okra is one of our favourite restaurants in Derby. Fine dining Indian experience. Quite good vegan range (just ask waiter). Excellent service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend to all of the curry lovers.
One of, if not, the best indian food in Derby! We ate at the restaurant in 2019 and since covid we’ve not had the chance to go again. Decided to order food for Valentines Day (via Uber Eats). The app said 75 minutes wait and we were happy to wait. Arrived in 60 mins. Food was hot, tasted amazing. Generous amount of chicken in chicken jatt phatt dish. Saag paneer was nice too. Minor downside was not enough of the papdi chaat. Overall 5/5. Don’t be surprised that Okra is probably more expensive than other Indian takeaways in Derby. You won’t regret paying a little extra for the quality.
I had high expectations as we walked into the grand restaurant that was fitting to the fine dining experience as advertised, sadly that is where it ended. The food is overpriced and very poor. My son had the Goan Cod Masala and it was just bland slop in a bowl with 5 small pieces of Cod for 16.95!!. I had the mixed grill which looked decent value at 18.95 but the meat had clearly been pre cooked and reheated as it was so tough and dry. The service was inattentive and there was a distinct lack of charisma, we had to repeatedly ask for water and not once were we asked if our meal was okay even at the point of paying. We have tried most places in Derby for Indian cuisine and I would highly recommend the Mogul which is as good as anywhere, if you want fine dining then the spice lounge just up the road from Okra or Fusion of India are both excellent but I'd strongly recommend avoiding Okra.
Went here last night with my friend and wow we loved it! Food was delicious! Staff very friendly and the place was so pretty. Definitely going back again!
