A pleasant station which unfortunately is insufficiently serviced by GWR. Can only get to on a Sunday in the summer with today being the last day (9 September). Needs to be reinstated with a more regular service. The station cafe is decent and you can travel on the preserved heritage railway to Meldon.

Such a shame but Dartmoor Railway has gone into receivership. The station is been looked after by volunteers but no trains will run until a new owner can be found. The cafe and model shop are also closed.
I was born in okehampton and used railway from as early as 1963 so now visiting is a great way of remembering old times it's a great place to visit my grand children love it .
Cosy little café with hearty food and friendly staff. This charming little café became our regular café during our week holiday here in Devon with the other half. Our accommodation was at the ‘Bird Box’ tree house cabin just down the hill from the station and this place was simply perfect. The breakfast’s we’re adequately portioned and not overpriced. I often think about this café when hungry for a full English in here in London! Be sure to say hello to the station cat. He tends to curl up on the chair next to the radiator by the entrance. Will definitely be visiting here in future.
A nice place with very friendly staff, but be aware that mainly trains only run here on Sundays, so check the timetable if you fancy travelling anywhere from here.
