Took the ferry over from Oban (if you're taking the ferry they only take 12 at a time so sit close to the ferry landing so you are first to board). The walk to the castle is about an hour each way. Highly suggest bringing water and hiking boots - it can get muddy. Awesome scenery so be prepared to take lots of pictures - especially from the castle as it sits really high up on a \cliff\ with lots of stunning views. Right before you reach the castle there is a cafe where you can take a break, grab a bite to eat and enjoy some coffee/tea while checking out the views. There's a toilet on the trail to the castle, which is right near the cafe. Its a compost toilet so it stinks. The last ferry leaves at 5pm, so keep that in mind when planning your day. From what I have heard they will make a trip back to get you if your late, but i wouldnt risk it. Overall a great hike with awesome views. Highly recommend checking it out if staying in Oban.

Great little castle on the Isle of Kerrera. You can get in and have a look around and there's an information board outside that tells you it's history. Great viewpoints and a couple of little coves to explore either side.

Little Castle you can actually get inside and have a look around. Information board at the entrance tells you it's history. Great viewpoints from the surrounding cliffs and a little beaxh/cove either side.

A sublime place to spend a night after the day trippers have left.

Atmospheric and historically intriguing. Well worth a visit. Be careful though of the steep path up to the castle as it can be very challenging.
