Want to try genuine Myanmar/Burma cuisine foods served in genuine Myanmar/Burma style, and pay only genuine Myanmar/Burma people price? If so come to this place.
Great tasting foods, large selections, huge table, fast service, mostly local people customers, very reasonable price.
About 20 different dishes of foods brought to my table, a plate of fresh raw vegetables and herbs (I think basil and mint leaves, same like for Pho noodle in Vietnam), a big pot of steamed white rice, and a bowl of sour vegetable soup. See photos.
There were pork, fish, chicken, beef, eggs, bamboo shoots, fava beans in curry, spicy sauces, and more.
I ate the entire dish of fish, was fresh and mostly meat, little bones.
I also ate the entire dish of what tasted like cooked lemon peels that look like melon but I don't think they were, unusual, never had it before.
The dish of fava beans in yellow curry was tasty too, not spicy hot.
I also picked and ate a piece out of other meat dishes but didn't eat the rest, just to taste them.
The pot of rice was more than enough for 4 people, I helped myself a few times, didn't have to ask for more.
Total was only K4,500, less than US3 or 3 Euros.
I was full, the meal was nutritious and tasty. Only in Myanmar can a meal be so tasty, nutritious and so affordable for low budget traveler like myself. Cheaper than a Mcdonald hamburger but so much better and healthier.
This place is only 2 minute walk from Shwezigon Pagoda, one of the best pagodas in Bagan, but few tourists eat here because this place is not dressed up to please tourists.
