Went to see the Moscow Ballet here Christmas 2019 performing the Nutcracker. Lovely theatre , big but not too big, Nice bars etc well organised and tickets not too expensive. will come back again to see what they have on once we get through covid. Only downside for us it's a 40 minute drive back to Sutton Coldfield. Will fix that next time by bringing the campervan and parking in the outskirts of Nottingham, and walking in . Good luck to all who work there. Keep going we are rooting for you.

Went to see Ben Portsmouth portraying Elvis (again!) this guy is more like Elvis than Elvis was! He really is good at his craft he has the looks, the voice and all those quirky little mannerisms Elvis had. What is there to say about the a Concert Hall it’s acoustically brilliant there are two lifts so disabled people can gain access. There are bars and snack stations and plenty of helpful staff on hand. It’s looking a little tired inside to me but given the amount of people who visit is it any wonder? A great venue that Nottingham can be truly proud of!

The Theatre Royal, Nottingham first opened on Monday the 25th of September 1865 with a production of 'School for Sandal' (See Bill Right). The Royal was the second Theatre designed by the well known Theatre Architect, C. J. Phipps and was constructed by J. and W. Lambert on Parliament Street, which now forms part of Theatre Square. The Concert Hall, which now stands next door to the Theatre Royal, was built in 1969 on the site of the former Empire Theatre which was itself built in 1898. The Theatre Royal was altered by Phipps in 1870, and again by the renowned Theatre Architect Frank Matcham in 1897. Further alterations in 1977 attempted to return the Theatre back to Phipps' original although with varying degrees of success.

Great venue for a music gig. Brilliant acoustics, good looking building, plenty of pubs/restaurants nearby and reasonably priced car parking close also. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to see a band/theatre performance etc there.
