Can’t recommend this club enough! The Sunday skills sessions (11am-1pm) are fantastic if you’re new to kayaking - the instructors are really friendly and welcoming, and teach a whole variety of skills and techniques depending on your experience. No need to book ahead (come solo, or with friends/family). Each session costs 10 or is free when you become a member. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet, and wetsuit boots if you have them. I’d definitely recommend arriving by 10.40am on Sunday’s to get changed and fill out the registration form etc, as the sessions start promptly at 11am.

Great place to go kayaking on the river Trent. I went with a few friends and there were about 25-30 kayaks in all. The group was split into 2, one played football with kayaks and the other (including me) went kayaking down the river. We had a great guide and instructor in Owen, who made the group do some fun and a bit adventurous activities before heading back. Make sure you reach there well before 11 on Sunday to get a place in the session open to public. It's a 2 hour experience and the instructors make sure you all have a good time.

Great club for any one who want to learn kayaking. Our trainer Martin was friendly and very helpful. Noticing it was our first time kayaking he spent whole lot of time showing us techniques and guided us until we are comfortable paddling on our own. It was lots of fun and a good learning experience. Trainers and other kayakers are very friendly. Some tips - Do bring a change of clothes and shoes as you will definitely get wet. If you are coming for recreation class like us, Be there at least by 10:40 to complete registration, getting life jackets, selecting kayak and go over basics before getting in to River by 11:00 AM. A perfect Sunday activity for all ages and all levels.
