Such a privilege to have this National Trust property so close to my home. Lots of parkland to explore which is free for non-members, however there is a car parking change of 5 (members free). Lovely gardens incorporating a lake and children's adventure play area. The house is well worth a look round when open again. The staff and volunteers are usually very friendly, and the cafe serves a good selection of sandwiches, cakes, light meals and drinks. I am a National Trust member and a regular visitor of this outstanding property.

Excellent house and walks in parkland. House not open at moment but lots of walks. Have to book first for car park. Cafe not open, but a cabin with food and drinks is open, card only, and toilets are open too. Gardens are extra but free if in national trust. Well worth a visit.
What a wonderful place for a half term walk. Congratulations to the NT for efficient booking system and well organised parking. Felt Covid safe at all times
We love this place, and on this occasion we had more time to explore the estate and found the old main entrance. It is very striking but to learn that the gate keeper and family lived there, in tiny rooms either side of the arch for over 200 years blew us away. Well worth the walk, and there is a choice of routes to suit all fitness levels.
Love the parkland and the lake. Fine walks in the gardens. They were open to the public and access was free but usually it’s paid. The parkland however is free to access for all and is great for walks. Always come back there.
