We went to Notcutts to get a Christmas tree and their Norway spruce trees were small and scraggy and rather overpriced, I thought. So we went to Mousehold garden centre and found a beautiful specimen for only 28. The service is always friendly and personal. The tree was netted for us for easy transport and you only need to go into the shop briefly to pay. It wasn't overrun when we went. I would highly recommend this place.

Great little garden centre with helpful staff and a huge range of plants both common and rare - ornamental and fruit trees, climbers, perennials, bulbs, soft fruit, herbs, hedging etc. Also stocks lots of hydroponic goods and equipment for indoor growing!

Normally I loved shopping there, but the last encounter disappointed me so much, that I won't be coming back. I bought some sheers there used them twice for less than an hour to cut grass and they just broke. When I come back to store to find out if they can be replaced or if I could get a refund, the lady who served me, Rachel, was accusing me of using the sheers wrong and you could see she was not going to do anything about it. Finally she did take them and said she will speak to her boss the next day and ring me back. 3 days later no phone call, so I went in again and they said they are still looking into it and that they will call me ..4 days after that, I had to go in again and they have done nothing about it and not even they have done nothing about it, she was rude to me again. What a disappointment!

We bought our Christmas tree from here on the first weekend of December this year and it’s no exaggeration to say it’s the worst we’ve ever had. We went out today (21st) to buy another from somewhere else as the one from Mousehold Garden centre hasn’t any needles left. Worst 35 we’ve spent for a long long time. If this was any other type of product, you’d have every right to take it back to demand a refund.
