Went to collect a car for a customer. Went to collection gate and waited but both staff in the cabin did not see or hear me, got told off for passing the barrier to get closer to call out to them, needs a better system. Car handed to me had all fuel taken out, 0 water in reservoir. Can these basic checks be done to make sure car is okay to drive? Atleast to the nearest petrol station

As an online bidder, the accuracy of an Inspection Report is quite important when it comes to bidding on a car you won't see for your own eyes until the moment you collect. Sure a small dent or scuffed wheel might be missed (and that's fair enough), but if you then turn up to find a huge crack on a windscreen which wasn't mentioned, I think you'd expect some offer to assist with this, especially when it's a particularly expensive windscreen to replace (800). This just happened to us at Manheim Northampton. Upon showing the crack to the staff, they agreed that it was not shown on the Inspection Report but ultimately offered no assistance, stating its simply down to us to sort. Having purchased over 100 cars from BCA, I strongly recommend you to do so as well - their appraisals may not be as accurate as Manheim's, but in situations like this where it is quite clear a major defect was missed, their customer services team live in the real world and are far more understanding / willing to help.

They sell rubbish cars but don’t mention about any faults in the car. Please please please avoid them and never buy cars from them.
