Follow the official car park signs over the level crossing & round to the left. This is the official NYMR car park & the money goes to help run the railway. The car park on the right is a private company.

Good value at a fiver for the day. We got the 9.30am train and didn't get back till 7pm. It's a reasonable walk to the station especially if part of it is closed for events like the war weekend. Allow plenty of time to park, buy your ticket online day before it's cheaper. Don't believe staff when they say you can sit anywhere. The luncheon carriage is privately booked and first class carriages they ask for an additional 4 each once you're on board so we moved seats before it left.

Great day out on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Great views across the Moors. Small gift shops and tea rooms at most of the stations along the route. Enjoyable day out for the family.

FYI 30 cwt limit. Not suitable for motorhomes. We used the unofficial long stay car park right by it for 5 per day.
