English Heritage property. We have been going to Tynemouth for 25 years but had never visited the priory before. Bigger than we expected inside. Some bits are well preserved but some, including records, were destroyed when it was used by military. Great views over Tynemouth Village, out to the North Sea and down the coast. Plenty of room for children Nd for picnics.

We had a great day here! The staff are super friendly and helpful, they gave the girls a task of finding the 5 buried pirates and next time we go they have to find the 2 graves with a sun and a moon. Good places to sit and have a picnic and the gift shop had some great things to buy!

Nice to spend a few hours within the grounds. Very open to the elements but worth a visit

The priory/castle is an interesting day out..lots of interesting facts. Parking nearby that doesn't cost the earth. Amazing places for food nearby too. Staff are lovely and friendly.

Absolutely brilliant day out. Great friendly community. Plenty of areas to eat and buy fish and chips. Gets busier as the day goes on. Lovely views and great areas to walk. Free parking.
