Chef Shangri-la's restaurant, bar, and entertainment is OPEN, even during these snowstorms and frigid temps. I stopped in for some carry-out, and Linda served me a delicious rum cocktail while I waited for my order. The food came promptly, hot and tasty, and I went home to dream of summer rum drinks and music on their patio.

I have been going to this restaurant for almost 40 years. It was my absolute favorite as a kid. It has more of a Tiki than Chinese vibe these days, but the food is still great and now I get to appreciate the long list of tropical drinks that have always been a specialty. We no longer live in the area, but I make the pilgrimage at least once a year for nostalgia's sake.
We had a (small only - seven people) birthday party for one of my best friends outside here in early Sept. The food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance, the DJ - it was all perfect. I can't say enough good things about this place. It was perfect in every way. You will not regret eating here, I promise. If it was nearer to me, I'd go at least once a week! The food was reasonably priced, delicious, arrived hot, and had the perfect portions. (Large portions - enough to take home for a second meal but not so much that it would go to waste and have to be thrown away.) The waitress was attentive but not pushy. It was simply great all the way around. Try it. You'll love it, too.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The owner is incredibly friendly and he was more then happy to explain the dishes. The food is simple, incredibly well prepared and seasone.
Chef Shangri-La is a restaurant that's easy to miss during the day, I wasn't expecting to see an Asian restaurant with a Hawaiian theme. The sign is Asian font with a palm tree. The entrance is very well decorated. The staff are very friendly and attentive We we're offered plenty of choice to sit in a booth or a secluded both with hanging colorful lights. Everything was that much magnified by the quality of the excellent food. The salt and pepper capamari was perfectly seasoned and the sauce did not over power the flavor. The calamari was not chewy. The chicken was so efficiently battered there was a delicious thin crisp layer of batter. Everything was excellent. I'd definitely recommend it and suggest any friends to visit. *** They also have live shows on Fridays and Saturdays with Elvis impersonators***
