Excellent orchestra, diverse programs

My husband and I just left a most disappointing evening at Strathmore. We love the Impressionist paintings at BMA and have enjoyed other BSO evenings over the years. So, of course, we were looking forward to an evening that combined the two. Although our seats were in a promenade box the visuals were terrible - too much light, etc. We simply couldn't see the paintings or read the title text. And if someone decided not to choose one slide for each of the La Mer sketches, to be shown throughout the sketch, why not retract the screen? I enjoy watching the musicians during a concert but that big white vacant screen ruined the view. No more 'Off The Cuffs' for us! 180 wasted. Should have gone to see'The Post'.

The Baltimore Symphony is one of the nation's most up-and-coming ensembles. Maestra Marin Alsop is incredibly engaging, able to seemingly pull gorgeous melodies out of her musicians with the swipe of her baton. Not able to make it up to Baltimore for a performance? Check out the BSO at Strathmore!
