Souvenirs were as excellent as the display, and all free. Kimonos and excellent fabrics abound. Lots of little items for sale, trinkets, handbags, tenegui, etc. Check the display photos. They also have a kimono show on the hour, I missed it but check the other reviews.

Very interesting place to visit. You csn purchase pretty things made of silk thread.
Wonderful place to stop by for textile history and well-made textile based products to treat yourself and use as souvenirs!
This place is super old and hasn’t modernized itself into an attractive complex. However, they do offer free kimono shows every day, where you can watch models parade around in gorgeous kimonos. And they sell a variety of goods. Also, this place is a very historic place. Too bad they haven’t modernized. If so, they would become a major attraction in kyoto. For an event with a Japanese Company, I got my hair done here and they dressed me in an elegant kimono.
Nice tidy shop with unique souvenirs, live textile making on old machinery and even a small museum for free. Free as well is the 10 minute Kimono Show on the 3rd floor, which was pretty interesting and a nice resting spot on our way to Kinkakuji. No photos allowed in the shop but during the show.
