Unfortunately we had a not so good experience at this restaurant due to the poor customer service. The restaurant didn’t honour our table reservation despite only being a few minutes after the allocated time. They decided to give our table away rather than ringing us to check. Thereafter, they kept us waiting for one full hour and kept and giving tables to others rather than us. The worst customer service I have experienced in any restaurant. I would give the rating 1 star but I’ll be generous and give it a two as the food nevertheless was good. The masala dosas were nice but didn’t really try the beetroot sauce. For starters, the papadoms with onion sauce was good. Potato Paratha was also good. Didn’t really like the Idli Sambar, but that’s just personal preference. The restaurant is a bit run down with very old decor and very dirty toilet. Difficult to find parking.

Love at first scent. Upon entry, one is met by a wall of enticing aromas. Clear it is within moments that this is indeed the holy grail of great Indian cuisine. Be it poppadom or the vindaloo, all are in a class of their own. Friendly, warm & welcoming staff, the opportunity to bring your own bottles from the store next door which offers a surprising variety of libations. This is not a restaurant to skip past, take the time, take a friend or one you love, or even better all the aforementioned. Reward your senses & self by visiting this wonderful spot.

South Indian cuisine has always been my favourite, there's two great ones in Edinburgh but Nilgiri has my vote, as the dosa is better, fish curry is better and prices are better. Been a customer for many years and although I try many round town, I always come back here, as they are consistent and delicious. Many curry houses use one or two curry gravies and then add components to make the 'different curries, NOT HERE! Nothing is generic, every dish is different and unique. They're also lovely people, which, when your spending your hard earned cash and time, is always a thumbs up. Thanks guys, always look forwards to a visit or take away.

One of our favourite takeaway places in Edinburgh. The food is authentic and delicious. The service is super friendly too. Highly recommend, if you haven't tried already, I urge you to do so. 5 stars.

Went there several times. I like their food. But just be careful they have pork and beef on their menu. I am not Indian or Muslim so I didn’t really understand but just for your information. Good restaurant.
