Lovely building and beautiful, tranquil garden. Unfortunately no photos allowed inside the monastery church - pity as it has a magnificent painted ceiling. A walk around the gardens is a relief from the busy city

Having a cool view of Nice without having people messing around. Park nearby is calm and filled with street food stands aside a Roman arena and two art museums.

Lovely frescoes in the church and pleasant gardens surrounding the monestary.

Nice enough looking place but pity no opening hours mentioned. I travelled all the way here on a 2 day trip to Nice (30mins on bus) to discover the monastery is closed on Wednesday's... Waste of a morning... Nice gardens though which were open and free with some nice views. Also roman ruins nearby and other museums.

Not being immediately in the city of Nice, it takes a little bit of time to make the journey up to Cimiez. At a stretch, it is walkable, but public transport is probably the better option. With very little light inside, it's tough to see too much and also no photographs allowed. The paintwork looks like it could really do with some restoration, although if you can't see the detail, then I guess perhaps no-one is likely to bother. I wouldn't visit just for the church here, and actually didn't even notice there was a museum. However, a trip up here could be combined with the gardens, the Matisse Museum and the Archaeological Museum to justify the time spent travelling from Nice.

Beautiful monastery with a stunning and peaceful garden. Everything you imagine in Provence to be is right there.
