One of many local food that has developed into a rivalry where 2 or more shops selling the same food cluster together, leaving the first time customer confused and maybe conflicted as to which to try. We were told that this was the original and only one of its kind in Singapore. If authentic Hakka Ampang Yong Tau Fou tastes like this, then it’s worth a try. Unique and not something you will find elsewhere.

This is the real authentic Hakka Yong tau foo. The owner will decide how many pieces to serve accordingly. One cannot select ones favorite unlike the next door. Best eaten with rice cos some items are pretty salty. The pic is for 4 pax and only cost 20, cheap.
Probably one of the best or could be the best Hakka Yong Tau Foo in Singapore. Please make sure to visit the correct stall as there are more than 1 shop there.
Hearty Hakka-style Yong Tau Foo with variety of fish paste-stuffed tofu and vegetables such as bitter gourd, tofu, lady fingers as well as eggplant as well as fried wanton and skins in a mildy sweet and savory sauce with a hint of garlic taste. 4 persons for 20. Quite reasonable price point. Note that there are limited tables and seats. Limited parking around the area. The stall is not to be mistaken with the stall beside. Chicken and roasted pork are ordered separately at 5 (for 1 person) onwards.
The standard of the place had dropped drastically. It used to be much nicer and fresher ingredients. The lady finger which we had was too hard and the skin was barely eatable. Dishes are a bit salty but still within acceptable range but ingredients are no longer as fresh as before. Maybe they become famous and started to sacrifice on food quality. Even the service was not as attentive as before. Even if you are standing in front of the store, the staff will just walked past you and won't entertain you. Maybe can try the next door Yong Tau Fu next time I am in the area.
The sauce is da Bomb. I think without it, the Yong tau Foo is just same as wat u have normally in those food court.
Place is a shadow of its former self. Tastes great if you haven't eaten at the place when the matriarch was still running the place.
The ampang yong tau foo is quite nice! Will give 5 stars if the hygienix conditions are better lol
