I waited out a bladder infection all weekend just to be told when I phoned on Monday for an appointment that no appointments were available for the day. The appointments operator said someone could call me the next day, even though I explained that I’d be out of town for the remainder of the week. She refused to request a prescription be called in for me to pick up before we left, so I guess I will be waiting until I get back home (if I can make it that long). If not, I’ll end up in hospital which will cost them much more time & money than a quick phone call would’ve done. (I am very prone to bladder infections & if they aren’t treated early, they escalate terribly.) I am absolutely appalled that they couldn’t be bothered to take a couple of extra minutes out of their day to assist a patient who clearly needs treatment. I do hope that someone with more urgent matters isn’t turned away like I was.
