Many years ago, I ordered curries from every Indian restaurant in Newton Abbot. Eastern Eye was definitely our favourite and we've never been disappointed since. Excellent food, very friendly staff. If you like Indian cuisine, I'd recommend it.

Fantastic food, tasty and good portions. Service was great and staff attentive. Busy restaurant which shows how popular it is. Highly recommended. If it is a birthday let them know, you won't be disappointed!
Ordered takeaway at 16:45 via app for delivery at 19:40. Still waiting at 21:20 with no communication from restaurant. Tried calling but no answer, very poor service. Cannot recommend on that basis.
We have been visiting this restaurant since the 90s and it has gone from strength to strength over the last 25 years. The best Indian restaurant in town, the staff provide service that you would expect to find in a large city. Very worthy of the awards that they have garnered over the years, the food is always excellent and priced competitively. When we want to treat ourselves, the Eastern Eye is our destination of choice.
Fantastic restaurant !! , the eastern eye is the most authentic Indian restaurant you will ever find , the traditional food has an astonishing taste that will stick on your taste buds making you crave it until the next time you go. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing and quiet ( unless theres a celebration going on ) and a nourishing environment for your children so dont worry about leaving them with a babysitter. Child friendly meals are available and pretty cheap for the quality you get. It's a very popular place for its south Indian cuisine as I said before is fantastic . Customer service is great and even if its busy your meal is still served in under 35 muinets after you order it. People are well dressed and lovely towards you . When you enter you are lead to your table and sat in a area of your choice. Your brought a menu and a starter of hard crispy corn shell Breads with sauces to drizzle across and crunch on . Your drinks and food come relatively quickly and are gone in a second because of how good it is. You will get a desert menu with many different ice creams , cakes and sweet treats. Then you are given a shot of indian high quality tuqilla with coffee beans harvested fresh from africa and kids are given a blackcurrant traditional syrup with lilac and vanilla bubbles so they aren't left out. Then your given a sweet orange scented hot towel to wipe your hands with and rich milk chocolate . Then the bill comes and you leave . Even the bathrooms are fantastic , with automatic flushing and cleaning toilets , relaxing music , a clear hand washing basin , violet soap and sandalwood lotion and posh decor .
