One of my favourite walks...hidden away on a tiny plateau you wouldn't know it was there if you didn't know...walk affords amazing sea views of the Islands South Coast and West Wight.

A peaceful place with a warm and magical energy to it. Visiting The Longstone really helps you to connect to nature and the earth. Rest a while here, take in the superb views and bathe in the good energy. There are plenty of free car parks surrounding the approach to this sublime stone. It also happens to be the island's only megalithic monument. If you're looking for a good walking track you'll find many trails in all directions from the monument.
It is an old stone, probably placed about 6000 years ago the views are nice and the effort minimal so if you are passing stop in the national trust car park and walk up.
Wonderful place,,and not hard to get to.
Beautiful walk from free National Trust car park, through woods to stunning views from the Long Stone and neighbouring downs.
