Had a blast with this company. My friend and I called and Jason scheduled us for the next day. Our instructor, Dane, was local, knowledgeable, and made sure we had fun. Both my friend and I were able to get up and we had great waves. Highly recommend!

Easy to schedule, very responsive and communicative, and outstanding service. I bought a 2 hour lesson for my sons 12 birthday and he had an absolute BLAST. It was his favorite gift by far, and after the lesson he was beaming. He had a great time, learned a lot, and it really boosted his confidence. He was up and surfing after just minutes in the water! 10/10 would recommend.
Dane was a great teacher. Our whole experience from booking our daughters surf lesson to completing the lesson was fantastic. We have one other experience with a different company to compare with and we will most definitely return to Learn to Surf. Dane informed us on wetsuits, the thickness differences and why, How to put on a wet suit and was very patient. He answered our questions on boards and where to buy and what to look for and did not give us the most expensive name brand ideas or options. He shared with us whatt beaches are safe for first or new surfers. He taught our daughter about rip tides and how to ride that out. He was not worried about being on a board himself but totally focused on his student. He finished the lesson at the van and by the end of the two hours we left feeling like we met a new friend. Our daughter was nervous at first and ended relaxed and excited to return for more. We will most definitely return and bring friends. And who knows the non-surfing fans in our family just might snag a lesson up at big bear too and learn to snow board through Learn to Surf.
We can’t say enough about how much we loved our experiences (love it so much we took two lessons in 3 days!) with Learn to Surf. Our 13 year old daughter is a beginner and they did a fantastic job helping her gain confidence and skill. The staff is professional and the instructors are great at their craft, fun, careful and encouraging. They went out of their way to help make our vacation extra special. The Newport and Huntington beaches were beautiful and we consider the surf lessons to be the highlight of our trip. This is a top notch group and we highly recommend them!
Wonderful experience! 1. My call was ACTUALLY answered! Jason is professional, approachable and focused on meeting the needs of the client. Top notch response and business! After booking, email confirmation and directions texted within 5 minutes. I knew where to go, what to expect AND my hellcats would be in great hands. 2. No surprises! Great location (even with bigger waves it's shallow and my boys had plenty of \long rides\). Equipment was top of the line, easy for boys to carry and maneuver. 3. The instructor (Brock) was AWESOME! Engaged two \competitive\ brothers (ages 9 & 10) with different learning styles and personalities(!) in a way that left both feeling it was, \the best day EVER!\ Brock was mindful of ones hesitation and helped his confidence grow. He reinforced general water safety and flexible problem solving while also getting them pumped and completely stoked on surfing! This island girl couldn't be more pleased! WARNING: One lesson might end up costing more when you get hooked and then need to go buy your own gear ;)
