Me and My 5 year old son went for our eyetest today ( my sons first visit) the staff were really friendly and made us both feel at ease. I have to mention the optician Julie who was excellent, really thorough, would definitely recommend seeing her. Very good safety measures involved. Really happy with our visit today!

I attended Vision Express Newcastle today. I was assisted in choosing my glasses by the lovely Laura, along with two equally lovely colleagues. They were all such an absolute pleasure and made my day with their patience, humour and cheeriness. Thanks girls, pleasant visit, it was a pleasure

Screw came lose on my glasses and the arm fell off. Turned up unannounced and Helen (apologies if I have your name wrong!) was very helpful. She took my glasses, fixed the arm so I was not without my glasses. Nothing was charged, just felt like she genuinely wanted to help. Great customer aftercare. The kind of small gesture that cements return business. Thank you once again. The remainder of that day at work without my glasses would have been unbearable!

Booked a routine eye appointment online 3 days in advance, only to receive a phone call late afternoon prior to the next day's appointment saying they were doing emergency appointments only. I advised their website allows standard eye test bookings but they said government guidance has changed, which is clearly a lie as I only booked the appointment 3 days ago. They said this was then a problem with the website but its no shock you can still book routine eye appointments, even showing availability for the day for standard appointments when mine was cancelled as \emergencies only\. Booked this appointment around work commitments, will certainly not be using them in the future. Amateur hour.

If I could rate it zero I most definitely would. I’ve been with vision express for over 7 years and they have done nothing but disappoint. The employees are appalling with dealing with customer requirements and offer no real solutions to problems. If your eye test is due and you don’t have time to book one in, they will be of no use to you. I was really looking forward to ordering some contact lenses, as I’ve done in the past, but unfortunately they couldn’t see me till after I fly out on holiday. Thereafter, I requested my prescription three times on three different occasions. They had promised to provide my prescription through email “ When we have time “. This is not acceptable, after all this is my prescription I’ve paid for from day one. While writing this, an employee had promised me a callback from the optician today and also an email with my prescription attached. Neither of those promises have been made. Overall, I believe Vision express only really want you to buy products from them. They hold your prescription against you. It’s a clever way of business, I would definitely stay away. Meanwhile just joined spec savers and got 59 off my first pair of glasses!
